Convertibles in Las Vegas
Neon at night, Red Rock at dawn — spring and fall evenings are pure convertible weather.
Las Vegas gives you two vacations in one: the neon of the Strip and some of the most dramatic desert scenery in America. A rental car lets you do both — valet at a casino at night, stand on the rim of a red-rock canyon by morning.
Pick up at Harry Reid International and the Strip is ten minutes north. But the real magic starts past the city lights: Red Rock Canyon's scenic loop, the Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire's glowing sandstone and the highway west to Death Valley.
Vegas is also the gateway to the Grand Canyon's South Rim (about 4.5 hours) and Utah's national parks. Many travelers build a full Southwest loop from here — our one-way options make it easy to finish in Phoenix, Los Angeles or Salt Lake City.
Vegas locals measure the city in two zones: the Strip corridor and everywhere else, where actual Las Vegans live in Henderson, Summerlin and the northwest valley. The Strip itself is only four miles, but resort garages, pedestrian bridges and ride-share queues make short hops slow — walking often wins under a mile. Beyond the neon, the desert takes over fast: the Scenic Drive at Red Rock is one-way and reservation-timed in season, Mount Charleston drops temperatures by thirty degrees in forty minutes of climbing, and the road to Pahrump crosses a pass where winter wind can shove a tall SUV around. Cell service dies in the canyons, so download offline maps before you leave the city grid. At night, watch for wild burros near Blue Diamond and donkeys' bigger cousins — desert wildlife uses the roads too.
Pick-up is at the Harry Reid International Airport rental car center. Counters are open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM local time, and WhatsApp support runs 24/7 if your flight lands late. The LAS Rent-A-Car Center is about three miles from the terminals with a dedicated shuttle; top up the tank on Las Vegas Boulevard south of the Strip, where stations are cheaper than the resort corridor. A popular local pick is the Ford Mustang Convertible — see why on its page. Planning a longer stay? Monthly rates apply at this location too.

For the Strip alone, no. But the canyons, the Hoover Dam and the national parks are the trips people remember — and those all need a car.
Yes. The South Rim is about 4.5 hours from Las Vegas. Start early, and consider an SUV for comfort on the long desert stretches.
In spring and fall, it is unbeatable for Red Rock and the Strip at night. In July and August, most renters prefer a closed car with strong AC.
At the airport's Rent-A-Car Center, reached by the free shuttle from both terminals. Follow the rental car return signs as you approach the airport.
